Why ACIS Doesn’t Give Timetables

Test week is approaching at ACIS, and every term we get the same question from parents: _“Can you give us a timetable so my child knows when each test will hold?”_

The short answer is no. And here’s why.

1. We are preparing students for real life, not just exams
A test in ACIS is designed to check what your child knows _at any time_, not what they crammed last night. In university, in JAMB, and in life, you don’t always get notice. We train our students to study consistently, not just when a timetable forces them to.

2. It’s our policy, and it works
This has been ACIS practice for years. Our academic calendar clearly shows the designated “Test Week.” Students know tests will happen that week. What they don’t know is _which subject comes on which day_. This policy has helped our students become the Nation’s Pride — innovative, disciplined, and ready for anything.

3. Timetables for tests create bigger problems
If we create a timetable for tests, parents will rightly ask us to create one for homework, classwork, and projects too. That’s not practicable. Our teachers need flexibility to test a class when the topic is fresh and students are ready.

4. What you CAN do as a parent* 
Instead of waiting for a timetable, help your child:

- Revise all subjects daily during test week

- Ensure they have their 20-leaf exercise books for tests ready

- Trust that if there’s ever an issue, you report it directly to Management first

Our commitment to you
If any teacher or student acts unfairly during tests, bring it to the Management immediately. We will investigate and sanction anyone found culpable. But we will not accept parents confronting teachers or students directly. Due process protects everyone.
